Les Frenes – Gite with pool

Situated in a quiet country hamlet, overlooking fields and woods ideal for walking and cycling, or just relaxing. Rustic in decor. With a very French feel. Included in the cost all bedding and towels for use in the Gite. There is parking for a car. The gite sleeps 4 people in the 2 bedrooms, one double & a twin. We have a bed settee should there be 6 which is located in the lounge area of the gite. There is an upstairs bathroom with bath, and a downstairs shower room. Utility room which has a washing machine, and a larger fridge with small freezer compartment. There is a wood burning stove in the lounge area and electric heaters in the bedrooms, should it get cold. Unfortunately we have had to introduce a supplement of 60.00 euros per week charge (pro rate) for wood and electricity costs. This is between Mid September and end of April. The pool, which is not heated, is available from June (possibly end of May depending on the weather) until September, You will need to bring towels for use around the pool. The pool area is very private and cannot be seen from the entrance gate. Well behaved dogs are welcome. We are 20 minutes from the Medival town of Parthenay. Futuroscope is an 1 hour away, most attractions are easily reach within less than 2 hours. Marais Poitevin Coulon is 45 mins away, where you can either hire a boat or have a guide to take you around the beautiful peaceful countryside via the canals. There are some very nice resturants which have delicious Ice creams. La Rochelle is 1 1/2 hr away which has a very good market on Wednesdays. Across the bridge from La Rochelle is Ile de Re, bridge toll is 16.00 euros, which has a nudist beach area. There are also several nudist beach’s on the Atlantic coast.
