A&S Tropical Cottage

House Rules: General: • Check ins are from 3pm to 10 pm, but arrangements can be made based on airline arrival • This is a clothing-optional homestead and is NOT appropriate for guests under the age of 21 – no exceptions! • No pets. We will not make exceptions. • No smoking (tobacco, vaping or weed) anywhere on the property. No exceptions. • The roads throughout the island are poor, especially the one coming to our place – there are lots of potholes. Please make sure you rent a vehicle that can handle the terrain. • Our expectations are that you will be self-sufficient, unless we have discussed it beforehand. We will be happy to give you some ideas of things to do, but we are not tour guides. • Get trip insurance – we have personal experience with flight delays, cancellations, freak weather, personal illness, and other circumstances that trip insurance will help to cover. • Parking for 1 car is provided • Quiet hours are 10pm on weekdays. If you have any questions at all, please let us know. Please note: You must read the full listing and accept the terms. Refunds will NOT be provided simply because you didn’t read before agreeing. Water: Our water comes from the sky as rain - please be conscious of your water usage. When it’s gone, it’s gone (until the cisterns are refilled by the next rainstorm) • Please conserve water by turning the faucets off in between soaping and rinsing in the shower, while brushing your teeth, and any other time you aren’t actually using it. • In the land of fun and sun we don't flush for number 1 (Unless leaving for a while) • The hot water switch is over the counter by the microwave. Please switch it off when not in use to conserve electricity. • We are on a septic system, so PLEASE don't flush anything your body didn’t create! Of particular concern are: • Wipes - Baby wipes, cosmetic wipes, any wipes at all, even if they are labeled as “flushable”. They are NOT flushable. This is important – they clog pipes, and can cause sewer backups. • Q-Tips, cotton pads and balls, menstrual products or other cotton products • condoms • dental floss • contact lenses • paper towels or tissues • food products, including chewing gum • Throw toilet paper in garbage can after you pee. • Please also do NOT pour anything down the kitchen or bathroom drains that could damage the septic system. Of particular concern are things like grease and oil, toxic chemicals (like nail polish remover) and anything that could clump or coagulate. Guests: • There is one queen size bed that sleeps 2. • Additional adult guests may be accepted, sleeping on an air mattress, for a charge and must be approved in advance by the host – no drop ins. • 4 guest max, limited to the specific named people in your reservation. If you show up with extra people or underage guests, your reservation will be canceled immediately with no refund. Clothing Optional: We like clothing. It can be fun, creative, and protective. HOWEVER, we are an older couple who seldom wear clothes around the homestead. Your acceptance of this agreement signifies your understanding that the Tropical Cottage is clothing optional, and that your hosts will frequently be puttering around the place, potentially including in your full view, with little or no clothing on. Your acceptance of this agreement signifies your understanding that the Tropical Cottage is clothing optional. As guests, you are welcome to wear or not wear clothing, at your complete discretion since much of our property is completely private. There is only one place where nudity is strictly enforced: the hot tub. The Hot Tub The one place we do not allow clothes at all is the hot tub. Please shower off before enjoying the tub. • No clothing, oils or soaps are allowed in our hot tub as it damages the filters and jets. We will levy a $500 cleaning fee if this rule is violated. We love our tub and want to enjoy it for a long time to come – so don’t screw it up for everyone! Critters: We are on a tropical island, so you will see some or all of the following: • In the “wild”: • Geckos, hermit crabs, stray cats & dogs, mongooses (mongeese?), field mice and iguanas • Roosters and hens, which (fair warning) will crow anytime they want, and they generally start “wanting” at 2am. This is island-wide, not just in our location, so you will not escape it. • Big black bugs, centipedes, ants, and if you are lucky, Frangipani caterpillars. We keep a clean place but, if critters give you the creeps you might want to stay in a hotel. • The hosts are also the servants of two cats, Pumpkin and Jillian AC units: There is a window unit in the bedroom and a mini-split in the kitchen that will cool the whole place. If you use it, please shut the doors & windows so you aren't cooling the yard :) Please turn it off when leaving for any extended period. On your way out: • Please, wash your dishes, but don't put them away • Empty the garbage • Turn off the water heater and the A/C (which should already be off anyway if you’re not using them! But please double check on your way out) Cancellations: We are not responsible for cancellations required due to weather events (e.g. Hurricanes) or other unforeseen events. Please get travel insurance.
